Jalapeno Poppers Recipe

Here is a delicious jalapeno poppers recipe that your family or friends will love next time you have them over for an evening of fun. They are tasty and you can make them with the jalapenos you pick from your garden. Grow the bigger jalapenos that are perfect for stuffing. We have seeds for several large jalapenos at David's Garden Seeds®.

Let's make Jalapeno Poppers using the jalapenos you harvest from your garden. They make a great appetizer or snack and are easy to make.

If you live in Texas, chances are you are growing jalapenos in your backyard garden. We have jalapenos growing now in and have already picked our first harvest.

Our Jalapeno Poppers Recipe

You will need:

  • garden fresh jalapenos
  • softened cream cheese
  • uncooked bacon
  • a cookie sheet with a cooling rack to bake them on.
  • Pam or other cooking spray

Preheat your oven to 425°. For ease of clean up, spray the cooling rack with cooking spray, like Pam.

Wash your fresh jalapenos, then cut them in half lengthwise. Cut off the top end of the pepper. Scoop out the pith (the white stuff where the seeds are) and the seeds. If you didn't know, the seeds are where the heat comes from in hot peppers. The heat is cut down greatly when all pits are removed.

Once that is complete, fill the jalapeno halves with softened cream cheese, using a spoon. Wrap each filled popper with a whole slice of uncooked bacon. Place each popper on your cooling rack that has been placed in your cookie sheet. See photo below.

The jalapeno poppers are now ready to bake. The bacon will make your house smell so good. The peppers will also smell really good while they cook.

Bake on a cookie sheet with a cooling rack to let the bacon grease drain off. If you don't have one, Amazon has the cookie sheets with cooling racks. That is where we got ours.

Bake your poppers for about 30 minutes at 425° Fahrenheit, until bacon is colorful and a bit crispy.

Here is how the jalapeno poppers look when baked. They are so tasty!
