Potato Casserole Recipes

Don't you love potatoes? This page has some potato casserole recipes for you to try. I think they are perfect for fall and winter dinners. There are several varieties of potatoes-regular Idaho brown skinned, gold, red, mini...They are all fabulous.

One of the questions we get a lot is do we sell seed potatoes at David's Garden Seeds®. No, we don't.


Our Potato Casserole Recipes

Potato Casserole Recipe #1

You will need:

  • a 24 ounce bag of frozen hash browns
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 drained 6 ounce jar of mushrooms
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 large 16 ounce carton sour cream
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • bacon bits
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Pam

Spray the bottom of a 9 by 13 inch pan. Preheat our oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Combine butter, soup, cheese and water in a saucepan and heat on the stove until well mixed. Spread the hash browns on bottom of the 9 by 13 inch pan. Top with the sour cream and add a few sprinkles of salt and pepper. Sprinkle the onions evenly on top. Pour the cheese sauce from the stove over the onions. Sprinkle bacon bits on top. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.


Potato Casserole Recipe #2

You will need:

  • 8 potatoes, peeled, cut in quarters, and cooked on stove
  • 1 small jar pimentos
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 of 6 ounce jar of mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 pound Velveeta cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Pam

Dice the cooled potatoes and add to a 9 by 13 inch baking pan that has been sprayed with Pam. Put flour and chopped pepper in a large bowl. Add milk and stir. Sprinkle pimento pieces over potatoes. Pour sauce of milk, flour, and chopped pepper over the potato mix. Add a few sprinkles of salt and pepper. Melt the stick of butter and pour on top of food. Add cheese cubes. Then sprinkle Panko crumbs on top of casserole.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes, until top turns slightly brown.


Potato Casserole Recipe #3

You will need:

  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 pound grated cheese (Cheddar, Colby, or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 six ounce jar of mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 can evaporated milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Pam

Peel and cut potatoes. Chop onion. Slice butter into thin slices. Add potatoes, onion, mushrooms, and butter to a 9 by 13 inch casserole dish that has been sprayed with Pam.

In a separate bowl, combine soup, milk, and half of the grated cheese, along with a few shakes of the salt and pepper. Pour this mixture over the potatoes. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 40 minutes.
