David's Garden Seeds® has plenty of garden flower seeds for sale. It seems like we push the veggie seeds but we also have fruit, herb, and flower seeds.
Today was quite the day. I had a terrible time sleeping last night and I woke up once an hour all through the night. The alarm went off early because we had to leave the farm by 8am to make it into San Antonio to see a podiatrist. I had double ingrown toenails that were very painful. During the snowstorm week, they got so painful that I, once again, had to go in and cut them out to relieve the swelling and awful pain. Today, the doctor fixed them up so that won't happen again.
When I got back to the farm, there were hundreds of seed orders from the weekend, many for garden flower seeds for sale on our website, that I had to deal with. In fact, I did not get to finish them all because I had to help the one customer who showed up yesterday at the farm store. Then I had to take time to write payroll as it was our company payday.
It seems winter has returned. Our high yesterday was 55° and that was at 7am. It got lower and very windy.
It was a very busy day with a small amount of foot pain thrown in for good measure. For dinner, I made grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup, a perfect meal for a cold evening.
Good Tuesday morning. I have printed out all of yesterday's orders this morning in my home office. I will soon be getting ready for another day of order filling so I need to get out of my warm, comfy robe. It is 43° right now but the sky is not overcast today. As I type, Lucy is lying on the floor by my chair, keeping me company. The other two are in the den with David. The cat does her own thing. Matthew just came in from feeding the birds and rabbits and informed me that they are all fine on this chilly morning.
Our team members are starting to arrive so I will get dressed now. It is funny how some can arrive 25 minutes early to work, but only if I am not ready for the day.
Well, today was spent finishing up the orders from the weekend and it took almost the entire day. Then we got an email from a customer who never got his seed order. His order was filled during the week of the snowstorm. It was taken to the post office by us on Friday of that week when the post office finally opened back up after being closed all week long. The tracking shows the post office never scanned the package in. So where is it? Is it behind some boxes at the post office? Did the wind blow it away? Did it get thrown away? It has four expensive types of seedless watermelon seeds in it. So now we have to ask the post office to search for it.
This week is supposed to be all about garden flower seeds for sale in our store and online. We have a lot but we are running out of some of the most popular spring flowers already like Stock Formula Mix.
We spent most of the day in the store pulling and packaging garden flower seeds for sale so when customers come in, they can easily plan their spring flower gardens.
It got very warm here, close to 80° after it got down to 39° this morning. We had no customers today, but plenty of online orders.
Yesterday, the Texas governor said that Texas will open back up to 100% capacity on everything and there will no longer be a mask mandate effective Wednesday, March 10. However, many businesses say they will still enforce a mask mandate. I guess they don't want business. Here at David's Garden Seeds®, you will be able to shop mask-free. Those little masks have not done anything to prevent corona.
We called a San Antonio restaurant, wanting a reservation for 22 for March 10 and the lady we spoke to said no, that they would still enforce their limited capacity. I thought they would be hurting for cash but I guess they are not. To each, his own. This nonsense has gone on long enough for me.
Today, Nacho was here with a helper, building me benches for out in the back forty. He got four of them done so far and they are nice. I think I will have to order some cushions for them to make them cozy, but I am not sure yet.
This morning, I have been pricing garden flower seeds for sale in the store again. There are just so many flowers.
I had some corn to hang up and I noticed that the corn section of the store was all messed up. We have several types of corn seeds: dent, ornamental, sweet, super sweet, sugar enhanced, and synergistic. They were all mixed in together so I spent the last 30 minutes separating and alphabetizing them all. I am afraid I will have to redo the entire inventory, one veggie at a time.
It is another beautiful, sunny day here on the farm. The outside guys are preparing bricks and pieces of wood for tomorrow's delivery of two more buildings! These buildings are smaller and will house our seed overflow. Right now, there are tubs of seeds in the production building so you cannot see the workers or the manager. This will help out a lot and create more room for work stations.
Today was another busy day at work. Two small buildings got delivered in the morning. One of the buildings was wrong. It is grey with zero windows. We ordered two off white buildings with windows. They were supposed to be identical. However, the builders got it wrong and shipped out two buildings to us, one right and one wrong. We decided to keep them both. Then the contractor came to see what was needed to finish out both buildings. The electrician also came to see what he needs to wire both buildings for electricity.
The buildings were placed close to our home, next to the seed production building. It is strange to look out the front door and see two more buildings.
Our house was cleaned today while we were at work and it looks so great. I have not had much time to clean at all with no assistant. In fact, I am having to work on the computer at night, now that I am doing all of the social media again, as well as orders, restocking and managing the store, doing price changes on the website, and managing two online stores.
This morning, I tried to get some laundry and dishes done before I opened the store. At 10am, I opened the store and a few minutes later, there were customers. I pulled some seeds for restocking the store but never got a chance to put them up in the store.
Once I closed the store, I planted vegetable seeds, herb seeds, and garden flower seeds for sale in our store and on our website, including zinnias, strawflowers, blue irises, and more. Then I ran out of steam.I went inside and made two types of homemade pizza crusts.
I collected eggs and prepared two pizzas, one on whole wheat flour for Svengoolie's movie tonight.
Today, I finished planting the herb seeds and some of the garden flower seeds for sale in our store. The only thing I have to plant is fruit seeds. I think I planted about thirty varieties of seeds between yesterday and today.
I also did more laundry but I never seem to get caught up.
